Got something that’s feeling a little unloved? All-in-one Fabricoat fabric paint helps you revive pretty much anything, from sofas and cushions to curtains and car interiors. Acting like a fabric dye, it’s extremely easy to use, highly durable and a cost effective way to bring fabric back to life.
Fabricoat comes in a range of 16 on-trend and classic colours. The colours are strong and vibrant and won’t fade or rub off after they’ve dried. Add your own unique personality and style to your surroundings.
Once dry, the fabric will remain soft and flexible – it won’t make the material go hard or stiff – and it will provide a long-lasting finish that you’ll enjoy for years.
If you’re using the paint to change the colour of fabric, always ensure the fabric is a lighter colour than the paint you decide to use. Can’t find the colour you desire? Then try mixing the colours to your preferred shade or use our White Mixing Fabricoat paint to lighten other colours. As it dries, do brush the surface a few times to prevent any fibres sticking together.
If your fabric has a pile, such as velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon or microfibre, we recommend ordering double the quantities of fabric paint. This is because there’s lots more surface area to cover on these types of fabric.
Always test the fabric for water absorbency first. If it’s absorbent, Fabricoat will work.

A. Yes, Fabricoat will work on any fabric provided it's absorbent. To test absorbency, drop some water onto the fabric and see if it soaks in. If it does, it is absorbent, and Fabricoat will work. We’d advise that for fabrics with a pile, you order double the amount of fabric paint as there's more surface area to cover.
A. A 250ml bottle will cover a lampshade or cushion, 500ml will paint a dining chair or a footstool, 1 litre will be enough for an armchair, headboard, or car seat, and 2.5 litres will be enough to transform a three-seater sofa.
However, if your fabric has a pile (like velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon, or microfibre), you will need to use more product as there is much more surface area to cover. We suggest ordering double the above quantities of fabric paint for these fabric types.
Our 125ml bottles are for small craft projects such as painting or printing on clothing, bags, napkins, lampshades and more. Alternatively they can be used as tester bottles to perform a small test on an inconspicuous area before tackling larger upholstery projects, if you want to see how the colour will turn out.
A. No, as long as you brush the fabric with a Soft Bristle Brush during and after painting it should not feel any different. Fabricoat is designed to dry with a soft, flexible finish without changing how the fabric feels.
A. If you want to change the colour of an item, we recommend you always use a darker paint than the original colour. If you do wish to transform your item to a lighter colour, the original darker colour is likely to show through. You can use our White Fabricoat as a base paint, but we suggest you always test a corner of the fabric first to guarantee this will work.
A. Sofas, chairs, lampshades, blinds, headboards and car interiors, but the possibilities are endless. Our small 125ml craft sized bottles are perfect for hand painting or printing on t-shirts and bags, or decorating fabric advent calendars and cushions. A. Yes, it is. Fabricoat takes two hours to become touch-dry and can be used after that, but we’d advise waiting a full seven days to allow the colour to fully cure. Once it’s fully cured, the material can be washed or cleaned as normal. Once dry, it will not rub off onto your clothes or other items.

Was very sceptical about this product, however I was blown away by the results. The stool seats were easy to remove and the woven fabric was perfect as a base. I cleaned the fabric following Nancy Birtwhistle's upholstery You Tube video then applied 2 coats of orange paint with a 2" paint brush. I used 400ml of the 1000ml I purchased and now I'm looking for a new refurb project to use the remainder of the paint.
I used this to paint my bedside lamp shades and they look amazing!
Took two of us a full day and alot of effort but well worth it we absolutely love the results! Needed to purchase extra this took 3 x 2.5 litre. Has given our tired and grubby sofa a new lease of life and a few extra years. Very happy with the colour. Top tip - brush, brush, brush, brush with a soft bristled hand brush when both wet and dry to avoid a crispy finish. We are converted to this product and will definitely use again. Delivery was very prompt and communication excellent.

Afraid it didn’t cover as well as I was expecting (I can still see the pattern an even though I did a white base as advised to first). The fabric now has a shiny sheen to it. Have resorted to ordering a new blind so was a false economy, sadly. I did order another two bottles of paint as was going to do another coat and also paint the inside, but decided against it as don’t think it will work. Can I send them back please as unopened?
Project not finished yet but it’s getting there! Planning to do the arms black. Definitely would recommend this to freshen up old fabric furniture.
I am thrilled with Fabricoat! This loveseat is from Designer’s Guild and was a natural linen colour. Our kids and pets totally destroyed it with mud stains, pant hand prints and cat scratches. This paint has given the love seat a whole new lease of life and made the fabric stronger. I ordered the recommended amount for the size but instantly could tell it want going to be anywhere near enough. I think the linen was just a very thirsty fabric so I diluted the paint to ensure I could get at least one layer on the whole piece plus the cushion. I then ordered more so I could do a final coat of undiluted paint and it was perfect. The colour is exactly as shown in photos on the website and on socials. Cannot recommend enough!
Started off on the footstool to test it out and get a feel for it. Subsequently went a little too sparing and it could do with a second light coat to rid it of some patches. With the chair though, was more generous. Coated really well, was a relatively fast transformation and very happy with the result! Now thinking of the other items of furniture I can paint! Only slight downside is the fabric is noticeably stiffer than it was. Not an issue with this type of chair but squishier things I might think twice about painting.

Great coverage, slightly stiff feeling at first, but once the bar stools had been sat on a few times they soften a bit.
Very impressed with this paint! It took a couple coats but the finish is so consistent and the color is gorgeous! I couldn’t be happier with the results

I ordered two bottles of paint and it was just enough for two coats on this little chair. Decided that the faint pattern coming through looks lovely. Sooo pleased with the result. Easy to apply and the fabric is not stiffened. Now what to paint next….

I had 4 light grey dingy dining chairs. I painted 2 light grey and 2 orange to go with my grey and orange decor. Paint went on easily and only 2 coats needed
The yellow on this pre-loved cushion didn’t match with the decor we were choosing so I painted it orange & now it’s perfect!!

My mother wanted a change of chairs but didn’t won’t to spend a lot of money at nearly 96 years old. She saw two chairs on eBay and said these were just the shape and size she wanted. The plan was to have them reupholstered. However, the quote was over £1000.00. She decided she didn’t want to spend this much. I had seen Fabricoat on FB and we gave it a go. She is happy with how they have turned out. The cost of the chairs and dye has come to under £65! I greatly over ordered and Fabricoat have instructed how to rerun the excess bottles. So win, win. Thank you.
Would recommend but had to persevere - took four coats to get it looking good. It went weirdly patchy after the third coat and I almost gave up. But now the fourth coat is on it looks great and the orange colour is perfect, really vibrant. It took nearly two 500ml bottles to do the footstool, which measures roughly 80x30x60cm. The paint didn’t smell and washed off hands etc really easily. As other reviewers have said, the texture of the fabric is a little rougher now (and spaniel dog hair sticks to it more for some reason!) but it’s fine for a footstool, and brushing during the painting process helped.
My lampshades were originally grey, I was a bit sceptical whether this product would work but I am so happy with the result. Was really easy to paint and didn’t take long to dry. My lampshades look great, I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.

I will give it a second coat but it looks so much better already! Application was super easy and one bottle lasts for quite a while so it has been a great way to bring our sofa back to life 🧡
This was a very, very old chair we had recovered almost 30 years ago. We took a risk knowing the recovered cherry/cranberry color might be too hard to hide and overcome with the fabricoat burnt orange paint. We have some weird splotches, and it still hasn't been a full 7 days of curing yet. But compared to the $500+ it was going to cost to recover it, this was worth it for a chair we were moving to the bedroom for my husband to throw his clothes on. It matches nicely with my new rug which was the inspo for the paint choce.
It is really easy to apply ,following the instructions provided. The result is really good and I enjoyed doing it.

Absolutely love this! It worked so well. I feel like it acts more like dye than paint. I was a little skeptical when it was still wet but then once it dried I loved it! I got these chairs off Facebook marketplace and they were originally a weird purple. Now they’re a perfect rust orange and match my other two thrifted chairs.
Painted a boring grey lampshade in this gorgeous orange and I am really happy with the results!

I had two bar stools in pale grey sat I my kitchen area. They picked up every splash and marked very easy. Ready for the tip I thought, then I tried Fabricoat nothing to loose. Two stools one 500ml bottle two coats and perhaps just a little touch up, a small amount left. Perfect coverage. The Fabric on the stools was very flat weave with no pile. Fabricoat hasn’t changed the feel of the Fabric. I have since purchased a further bottle and used this on my out door cushions, another good result.
A very simple project to start - I used half a 250ml bottle of orange to update a busy 80s design headboard in a caravan. It was a lot easier and less time-consuming than I thought it would be. It worked very well, went on very easily and gave a great finish. The room looks updated and I’ve already bought a larger amount of Olive Green to update the lounge area!
I painted this chair. It was a faded light pink before, now it’s orange and it’s been saved from the skip. Painting was easy but I found I needed all 2.5L and could do with more. It says to wet it and this was problematic as the water seemed to run through the fabric and take out the dye. Took far longer than it says to dry. Instructions are too basic and don’t cover enough eventualities. Paint itself washes out easily and this was its best feature.
