Got something that’s feeling a little unloved? All-in-one Fabricoat fabric paint helps you revive pretty much anything, from sofas and cushions to curtains and car interiors. Acting like a fabric dye, it’s extremely easy to use, highly durable and a cost effective way to bring fabric back to life.
Fabricoat comes in a range of 16 on-trend and classic colours. The colours are strong and vibrant and won’t fade or rub off after they’ve dried. Add colour and beauty into the world around you.
Once dry, the fabric will remain soft and flexible – it won’t make the material go hard or stiff – and it will provide a long-lasting finish that you’ll enjoy for years.
Just so you know...
If you’re using the paint to change the colour of fabric, always ensure the fabric is a lighter colour than the paint you decide to use. Can’t find the colour you desire? Then try mixing the colours to your preferred shade or use our White Mixing Fabricoat paint to lighten other colours. As it dries, do brush the surface a few times to prevent any fibres sticking together.
If your fabric has a pile, such as velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon or microfibre, we recommend ordering double the quantities of fabric paint. This is because there’s lots more surface area to cover on these types of fabric.
Always test the fabric for water absorbency first. If it’s absorbent, Fabricoat will work.

Frequently Asked Questions
A. Yes, Fabricoat will work on any fabric provided it's absorbent. To test absorbency, drop some water onto the fabric and see if it soaks in. If it does, it is absorbent, and Fabricoat will work. We’d advise that for fabrics with a pile, you order double the amount of fabric paint as there's more surface area to cover.
A. A 250ml bottle will cover a lampshade or cushion, 500ml will paint a dining chair or a footstool, 1 litre will be enough for an armchair, headboard, or car seat, and 2.5 litres will be enough to transform a three-seater sofa.
However, if your fabric has a pile (like velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon, or microfibre), you will need to use more product as there is much more surface area to cover. We suggest ordering double the above quantities of fabric paint for these fabric types.
Our 125ml bottles are for small craft projects such as painting or printing on clothing, bags, napkins, lampshades and more. Alternatively they can be used as tester bottles to perform a small test on an inconspicuous area before tackling larger upholstery projects, if you want to see how the colour will turn out.
A. No, as long as you brush the fabric with a Soft Bristle Brush during and after painting it should not feel any different. Fabricoat is designed to dry with a soft, flexible finish without changing how the fabric feels.
A. If you want to change the colour of an item, we recommend you always use a darker paint than the original colour. If you do wish to transform your item to a lighter colour, the original darker colour is likely to show through. You can use our White Fabricoat as a base paint, but we suggest you always test a corner of the fabric first to guarantee this will work.
A. Sofas, chairs, lampshades, blinds, headboards and car interiors, but the possibilities are endless. Our small 125ml craft sized bottles are perfect for hand painting or printing on t-shirts and bags, or decorating fabric advent calendars and cushions. A. Yes, it is. Fabricoat takes two hours to become touch-dry and can be used after that, but we’d advise waiting a full seven days to allow the colour to fully cure. Once it’s fully cured, the material can be washed or cleaned as normal. Once dry, it will not rub off onto your clothes or other items.

One coat and the color was perfect. I painted over a blue black base that I dyed a year ago with liquid dye and I can say this paint works! I did research what color combos would give me close to a plum finish over the dark blue and maroon was exactly right. Yes the fabric is stiff but I am using the brush on it to soften it and that helps but color over comfort was the goal so it was the best decision to paint it!
I have dry brushed my white roller blinds, when the sun shines the colour is very bright so I’m thinking about buying another bottle but very easy to use and is a nice consistency when painted.
The maroon colour looks fantastic. The chair was dirty and needed updating and after two coats it now looks new. The picture is in front of a lamp that was painted in olive and they look great together.
I love my Granny’s chair, it’s so easy, comfy, like a warm hug but whilst the gold fabric suited the chair, it really didn’t suit my decor so after reading some great reviews I was brave and went for it with Fabricoat Maroon! I am delighted with the results! I still have my favourite chair, now in a colour that I adore! Amazing paint! Thank you
Needed more coats than I expected but looks great! Super easy to use. Got two big lampshades and a smaller out of 1 500ml bottle and the smaller 250ml bottle
Our sofa had got worn on the corners but was still in good condition in every other respect. So I found a colour to match the fabric and have touched it up. Very happy with the result
The paint worked pretty good. Easy application and dried quickly. It still feels a bit rough to touch since I had to apply 2 layers for a full coverage
I’m mixed the orange with the red to create a rich deep burnt orange ! So pleased with the result
If you follow the guidance, this product is easy to apply, dries well and looks great when finished! It is however really important to follow the instructions!

I bought a bench with a beige cushion. You can see by the photo that I like saturated, bold color. I decided to paint it. It took more paint than I expected (1 quart) but it turned out beautifully. It's very easy to use. I would buy it again for a small piece.

This foot stool, which was silver and black was gifted to me. It didn’t fit in with my vibe. Maroon fabric paint and light water spray, resulted in a perfect finish and I love the new colour.
Following some research I chose to use Fabricoat maroon to bring the tonneau cover and associated parts back to an original colour on my 1980 car, that I’m restoring. The carpet type finish had sun-faded to an orangey brown from its original red wine colour, so maroon seemed the obvious colour choice. Admittedly a little sceptical about coverage and durability, the ease of application and final result was beyond expectations and I’m very pleased, Fabricoat has really made a big improvement to the car’s condition.
Great product. Second time of using and a different colour. This was the worst chair in terms of condition and staining but looks amazing and the colour took well
Love that it felt like regular paint but didn’t leave a hard texture when dry!

Sharing a photo of my recently painted sofa wouldn't help you actually. When I dampened the cloth first as instructed, the colour didn't have enough pigment to cover the older, paler fabric. But when I painted It thickly onto dryer fabric, it stayed, however was very patchy, which is how it has dried. I've covered it in cushions to lessen the bad appearance but I am disappointed that it is so uneven and would not use again.

Crazy impressed with the absorption and how it doesn't come off even after roughing it up quite a bit! We went with the maroon to darken some offices chairs and they turned out beautiful! Highly, highly recommend!

Amazing product. Exact colour match for my beautiful, faded cotton velvet Sofa! There are a few hard patches on it but that was entirely My Fault for overloading the brush with paint. Waited the two hours to soft brush it after paint application ( as directed for velvet fabric) but where I’d been a bit over zealous loading the brush with paint - some areas were still wet and have dried less velvety soft. They are gradually receding as I weekly brush it. No one else seems to notice them they are so impressed with the transformation. My friend has already ordered paint from you! Painting my sofa has saved me so much money. With cotton velvet costing around £80 to £100+ per metre plus the cost of reupholstering I was even considering buying a new sofa. The fact that the colour match was perfect is a huge bonus too. I am now considering painting my additional sofa in the Green! Excellent product.
Was a little dubious but gave it a go and what a transformation!! Absolutely fantastic and throughly recommended.
We painted crushed velvet bed and headboard and large chaise longue. It came out absolutely fantastic!! So pleased with the result, better than expected and thoroughly recommended!!

Sorry stated off great but second coat dreadful , can’t do a 3rd as it would make it too dark
I have not used it yet. But the colour is just right.

The carpet covering the walls of our narrowboat was very faded in places the paint has revitalised really well we are so pleased. Have already told our fellow boaters about it. Fantastic 😊👍
