Got something that’s feeling a little unloved? All-in-one Fabricoat fabric paint helps you revive pretty much anything, from sofas and cushions to curtains and car interiors. Acting like a fabric dye, it’s extremely easy to use, highly durable and a cost effective way to bring fabric back to life.
Fabricoat comes in a range of 16 on-trend and classic colours. The colours are strong and vibrant and won’t fade or rub off after they’ve dried. Add your own unique personality and style to your surroundings.
Once dry, the fabric will remain soft and flexible – it won’t make the material go hard or stiff – and it will provide a long-lasting finish that you’ll enjoy for years.
Just so you know...
If you’re using the paint to change the colour of fabric, always ensure the fabric is a lighter colour than the paint you decide to use. Can’t find the colour you desire? Then try mixing the colours to your preferred shade or use our White Mixing Fabricoat paint to lighten other colours. As it dries, do brush the surface a few times to prevent any fibres sticking together.
If your fabric has a pile, such as velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon or microfibre, we recommend ordering double the quantities of fabric paint. This is because there’s lots more surface area to cover on these types of fabric.
Always test the fabric for water absorbency first. If it’s absorbent, Fabricoat will work.

Frequently Asked Questions
A. Yes, Fabricoat will work on any fabric provided it's absorbent. To test absorbency, drop some water onto the fabric and see if it soaks in. If it does, it is absorbent, and Fabricoat will work. We’d advise that for fabrics with a pile, you order double the amount of fabric paint as there's more surface area to cover.
A. A 250ml bottle will cover a lampshade or cushion, 500ml will paint a dining chair or a footstool, 1 litre will be enough for an armchair, headboard, or car seat, and 2.5 litres will be enough to transform a three-seater sofa.
However, if your fabric has a pile (like velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon, or microfibre), you will need to use more product as there is much more surface area to cover. We suggest ordering double the above quantities of fabric paint for these fabric types.
Our 125ml bottles are for small craft projects such as painting or printing on clothing, bags, napkins, lampshades and more. Alternatively they can be used as tester bottles to perform a small test on an inconspicuous area before tackling larger upholstery projects, if you want to see how the colour will turn out.
A. No, as long as you brush the fabric with a Soft Bristle Brush during and after painting it should not feel any different. Fabricoat is designed to dry with a soft, flexible finish without changing how the fabric feels.
A. If you want to change the colour of an item, we recommend you always use a darker paint than the original colour. If you do wish to transform your item to a lighter colour, the original darker colour is likely to show through. You can use our White Fabricoat as a base paint, but we suggest you always test a corner of the fabric first to guarantee this will work.
A. Sofas, chairs, lampshades, blinds, headboards and car interiors, but the possibilities are endless. Our small 125ml craft sized bottles are perfect for hand painting or printing on t-shirts and bags, or decorating fabric advent calendars and cushions. A. Yes, it is. Fabricoat takes two hours to become touch-dry and can be used after that, but we’d advise waiting a full seven days to allow the colour to fully cure. Once it’s fully cured, the material can be washed or cleaned as normal. Once dry, it will not rub off onto your clothes or other items.

Love this product! It’s worked really well on chairs and has yet to wear off. Really helped turn a boring chair into a perfect match for our decor! The only thing I didn’t like was that spring lightly with water beforehand per instructions caused the paint to bleed. It blended better but the bleeding was too much. Without water it still works great!

Fabricoat paint has completely modernised my 22 year old armchair giving it a new lease in life. The paint goes on beautifully and dries very smoothly. I have needed more than anticipated but this is a large armchair. My orders have arrived quickly. Would highly recommend using Fabricoat. Great colour selection and very easy to use.

The grey came out well and the subtle pattern of the fabric comes through well. The chair looks lived in and is really comfortable to sit in. No residue from the paint and it has softened up nicely. I’m really pleased.

I had to order more product because the pile on my couch is very thick. The amount of product didn't cover any of the back side of the couch. I ordered more product directly from the manufacturer in Britain as it was less expensive than ordering 5-500ml bottles from Amazon. And, with Trump and Tariffs happening, I'd rather support Britain. I will be using some of the order I just received to do the back of my couch and my 2-seater sofa.

I used Fabricoat Dark Grey to transform our red sofas to grey. It took 2 coats to ensure the red did not show through. The secret was also to let the first coat dry completely before applying the second. We love the new look and can’t wait to show it off to our family and friends.

This hand chair was so stained and dirty. Even after a professional stream clean. Recovering was too expensive so I tried your product as a last resort! Wow! It took me 2 hours to apply one coat and it looks like a new chair!! Very very happy with the results, I'll probably give it a second coat just to finish it off.
Great stuff, needed a good few coats but it was old and dirty material and I'm a perfectionist 😆
Daughter doesn’t like her purple spotted curtains any more so saving £100s by colouring them over with Fabricoat!! This may take some time!!!
I picked a big project to paint, a Sectional with a pastel colored design. I mixed 4 different colors to cover a woven pastel fabric. I used 3 coats of 12x68 fluid oz. paint for a sectional. An additional coat is needed for the cushions, but I really like the change! It was easy to use...I gave the fabric a good misting before appying the paint to help the paint absorb. It's pricey to cover upholstery fabic but I'll use the product again.
Overall I am happy with the fabric pain. I ordered Dark Grey and it wasn't as dark as expected but still ok. I also ordered x2 500ml bottles to paint a divan bed base, but had to order another 500ml as it was a bit patchy and needed another coat in places. I found out that wetting the fabric as recommended prior to applying the paint is actually NOT a good idea. This is what created the uneven coating and lighter patches in my opinion. I applied the second coat without wetting the fabric and it turned fine.
Really great product. I used it for changing a cream carpet which was looking a bit tired. There are a few slightly lighter patches but that was because those area of carpet were more worn than the rest, I’d recommend doing 2 coats if your carpet is the same. By the time my furniture was back in, it looked like a new carpet! Will definitely be getting more for my stairs and landing.
Great product. This has helped me breathe new life into our kitchen chairs, they look much smarter now. Easy to use, plus water soluble so not that smelly and easy to clean brush.
I never got my paint. Can I get a refund?
I had sofa cushions in a velvet fabric in a colour which I didn’t like. Saw Fabricoat advertised and thought I would try it,I ordered samples sizes of gunmetal grey and dark grey. The former was a lovely rich colour but not the grey I wanted. I used dark grey in 2.5 litre size. I have 1/3 left after doing two coats. Having four large seat cushions to paint took some time and more instructions would of been helpful.How One to leave between coats and do you need to spray water again in between coats? I ampleased with the result . However , the maroon did not work on the decorative cushions so the material must have been at fault.
Easy to apply and true to colour. This is the third colour I’ve used and they’ve all been fabulous.
Made my chair hard as ever. Ruined the chair.
My lightshades look brand new & match my newly decorated living room!
Dark orange velvet couch now mottled brown cardboard texture. Not even vaguely grey. Ugh. Man taking it to the dump tomorrow … hugely disappointed!!
