I love the color I chose the dark green. I found the paint easy to apply I did watch your videos. That helped a lot. I had to paint the bedroom, and it doesn’t even have any smell. I am very pleased with how my first project turned out.
Paint for all fabrics
Got something that’s feeling a little unloved? All-in-one Fabricoat fabric paint helps you revive pretty much anything, from sofas and cushions to curtains and car interiors. Acting like a fabric dye, it’s extremely easy to use, highly durable and a cost effective way to bring fabric back to life.
Fabricoat comes in a range of 16 on-trend and classic colours. The colours are strong and vibrant and won’t fade or rub off after they’ve dried. Add colour and beauty into the world around you.
Once dry, the fabric will remain soft and flexible – it won’t make the material go hard or stiff – and it will provide a long-lasting finish that you’ll enjoy for years.
If you’re using the paint to change the colour of fabric, always ensure the fabric is a lighter colour than the paint you decide to use. Can’t find the colour you desire? Then try mixing the colours to your preferred shade or use our White Mixing Fabricoat paint to lighten other colours. As it dries, do brush the surface a few times to prevent any fibres sticking together.
If your fabric has a pile, such as velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon or microfibre, we recommend ordering double the quantities of fabric paint. This is because there’s lots more surface area to cover on these types of fabric.
Always test the fabric for water absorbency first. If it’s absorbent, Fabricoat will work.
Full instructions are provided on in our How To section and on the product label.
We are Fabricoat. We are painting the fabric of life.
A. Yes, Fabricoat will work on any fabric provided it's absorbent. To test absorbency, drop some water onto the fabric and see if it soaks in. If it does, it is absorbent, and Fabricoat will work. We’d advise that for fabrics with a pile, you order double the amount of fabric paint as there's more surface area to cover.
A. A 250ml bottle will cover a lampshade or cushion, 500ml will paint a dining chair or a footstool, 1 litre will be enough for an armchair, headboard, or car seat, and 2.5 litres will be enough to transform a three-seater sofa.
However, if your fabric has a pile (like velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon, or microfibre), you will need to use more product as there is much more surface area to cover. We suggest ordering double the above quantities of fabric paint for these fabric types.
Our 125ml bottles are for small craft projects such as painting or printing on clothing, bags, napkins, lampshades and more. Alternatively they can be used as tester bottles to perform a small test on an inconspicuous area before tackling larger upholstery projects, if you want to see how the colour will turn out.
A. No, as long as you brush the fabric with a Soft Bristle Brush during and after painting it should not feel any different. Fabricoat is designed to dry with a soft, flexible finish without changing how the fabric feels.
A. If you want to change the colour of an item, we recommend you always use a darker paint than the original colour. If you do wish to transform your item to a lighter colour, the original darker colour is likely to show through. You can use our White Fabricoat as a base paint, but we suggest you always test a corner of the fabric first to guarantee this will work.
A. Sofas, chairs, lampshades, blinds, headboards and car interiors, but the possibilities are endless. Our small 125ml craft sized bottles are perfect for hand painting or printing on t-shirts and bags, or decorating fabric advent calendars and cushions. Check out our Inspire page or socials to see what our community have been painting.
A. Yes, it is. Fabricoat takes two hours to become touch-dry and can be used after that, but we’d advise waiting a full seven days to allow the colour to fully cure. Once it’s fully cured, the material can be washed or cleaned as normal. Once dry, it will not rub off onto your clothes or other items.

Painted the bed headboard and sides of bed which was originally grey and painted the dressing table stool to match. Only used about half of the large size paint , took a couple of hours to dry and I’m very pleased with the outcome. Will definitely recommend to my friends. Incidentally you were recommend to me by a friend.

Amazing paint, two coats gave a really rich colour, materiel still soft to touch. Love the dark green.

Storage ottoman was light beige linen look that did not fit into living room decor . Ottoman previously used in bedroom and had become stained since being used in living room. Love the dark green shade. Had to order a second bottle as ordered 250ml which wasn’t enough.

This stuff is amazing. I got 4 brown 2 seater sofas second hand that were a bit stained and tatty and I knew they needed a refresh but I didn't know what to do. Then I came across an advert for this stuff and wow! What a difference it has made. I am so happy with the results. I bought 2.5 litres and it was more than enough to do all 4 sofas!! If you are unsure about buying this, don't be, delivery was quick and the price is amazing. Go for it!

My cushions were sun bleached and patchy. Dyes no longer washed in evenly so as a last resort to save the cushions I tried fabricoat. I am really happy with result, and love the dark green shade.

Quick delivery and leased with the colour. I might need to order another bottle as o got through it quite quickly. I tried to water it down but it was then very streaky. It doesn’t spread far but the colour is good and easy to blend. A much better improvement and I thought the price was reasonable.
Rosie C. 4/5 Verified
It went patchy and needed three times the recommended amount.

Transformed a very old, faded chair. So easy to use and beautiful rich colour. Only downside is that the velvet isn’t so soft once dry. But I will definitely use it again.

Amazing paint! I watered it down like it said. I’ve only done half the sofa so far as I’m waiting for the weather to get better so I can do the rest outside in the sun. I used a small roller, and sprayed the sofa with water first. Fabric doesn’t feel any different still lovely and soft

Lovely colour, doesn’t paint on as easily as demo video suggests and left the chair feeling a bit ‘crusty’, but overall happy with results. Need to redo seat cushion as it’s come out patchy !
Angela F. 4/5 Verified
Was very apprehensive at first. But well chuffed with the results
Claire B. 5/5 Verified
Fantastic results. This looks like new. The old fabric was stained and marked and it has completely covered everything. The colour looks amazing. Two coats were used to finish to an even coverage. So pleased with the finished effect.

Had 8 chairs come in to the charity shop in cat scratched condition. 2 coats and they look great. Took 750ml to put 2 coats on 8 chairs. However did take a long time to dry on vinyl

I wasn’t sure this would work over dark grey material but I thought I’d take a chance. It was absolutely brilliant, such good coverage with just one coat. I bought a 2.5l pack but not sure I’ll need the whole thing so I’m basically painting all my furniture green 🤣
Linda H. 5/5 Verified
Love love love the dark green!!

I found the product very easy to use although it was slightly patchy even after the second coat.

Was a little nervous pianting a cream lampshade, but once I saw how easily fabricoat went on, I enjoyed it so much I ended up painting a table lamp as well! Colour is exactly as advertised and coverage is amazing. I still have some left over after two coats on the large lampshade and 3 coats on my table lamp (it was bright red and I really should have put a white basecoat on first!) But it ended up looking amazing too. Will definitely use Fabricoat again if I fancy a switch up.

The sofa is 7 years old and it was cheaper to paint than buy a new one. Using Dark Green Fabricoat paint l definitely have made an investment. The compliments lm getting are unreal. People think l bought a new sofa when in my l eyes l actually do have a new sofa. This paint is amazing and l will definitely buy more as l have a huge footstool to paint

Dark green is a rich and warm colour, adding depth to the furniture and room. Applying it is as simple as the instructions suggest. Covered both cushions easily with 500ml even touching up left some excess in the bottle. Dries quickly. The feel of the cushions haven’t changed all that much at all. I would recommend and look forward to using the product again elsewhere. A cost effective solution over reupholstering. Love my new look.

Armchair is now a lovely emerald/ dark forest green, and is a great match for our antique sofa that is dark green also, all in all Fabricoat has been successful and the velvet is nice and soft and natural, but the trick is take your time and add a bit of water to the dye to help with the process

This stuff is impressive. I used 2 bottles to cover my ottoman that was BRIGHT hot pink. It took 4 coats in total. I did need to water down the paint so that it could glide on and also soak in evenly (and make the paint go further given how many coats were needed). It didn't cover every area and I'll need to touch up a bit more. The only thing I'd say is it was a lot of work - 4 coats is a lot and I needed daylight to see where the paint didn't cover all the pink. But overall I'm really impressed and it dries amazingly. It's basically like painting dye on and it looks fab.

Originally light and dark blue weave patterned fabric. Definitely helps application to spray with water first. Shame 2 coats hasn’t completely covered the pattern but looks ok. Slightly crispy in places. Helps to keep brushing in different directions. May try a 3rd coat

Wanted to try this fabric paint so bagged myself a £10 chair bargain off marketplace to try the paint on. Chair has linen fabric on and was stained - I cleaned it as best as I could - waited for it to dry and painted it with 2 coats of paint - I’m impressed with how it came out

I loved using it.it was over a brocade fabric and it needs another brush to soften it more. When I first started I wasn't sure about it but now it's all finished it's great. Just the colour I wanted. I even had enough to do a matching lampshade. It took 2 bottles.
