Time to unleash the fab factor with our Green Fabric Paint

Got something that’s feeling a little unloved? All-in-one Fabricoat fabric paint helps you revive pretty much anything, from sofas and cushions to curtains and car interiors. Acting like a fabric dye, it’s extremely easy to use, highly durable and a cost effective way to bring fabric back to life.

Fabricoat comes in a range of 16 on-trend and classic colours. The colours are strong and vibrant and won’t fade or rub off after they’ve dried. Transform loved pieces to reflect who you are and what you value.

Once dry, the fabric will remain soft and flexible – it won’t make the material go hard or stiff – and it will provide a long-lasting finish that you’ll enjoy for years.

Just so you know...

If you’re using the paint to change the colour of fabric, always ensure the fabric is a lighter colour than the paint you decide to use. Can’t find the colour you desire? Then try mixing the colours to your preferred shade or use our White Mixing Fabricoat paint to lighten other colours. As it dries, do brush the surface a few times to prevent any fibres sticking together.

If your fabric has a pile, such as velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon or microfibre, we recommend ordering double the quantities of fabric paint. This is because there’s lots more surface area to cover on these types of fabric.

Always test the fabric for water absorbency first. If it’s absorbent, Fabricoat will work.

Full instructions are provided on in our How To section and on the product label.

Frequently Asked Questions

A. Yes, Fabricoat will work on any fabric provided it's absorbent. To test absorbency, drop some water onto the fabric and see if it soaks in. If it does, it is absorbent, and Fabricoat will work. We’d advise that for fabrics with a pile, you order double the amount of fabric paint as there's more surface area to cover.

A. A 250ml bottle will cover a lampshade or cushion, 500ml will paint a dining chair or a footstool, 1 litre will be enough for an armchair, headboard, or car seat, and 2.5 litres will be enough to transform a three-seater sofa.

However, if your fabric has a pile (like velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon, or microfibre), you will need to use more product as there is much more surface area to cover. We suggest ordering double the above quantities of fabric paint for these fabric types.

Our 125ml bottles are for small craft projects such as painting or printing on clothing, bags, napkins, lampshades and more. Alternatively they can be used as tester bottles to perform a small test on an inconspicuous area before tackling larger upholstery projects, if you want to see how the colour will turn out.

A. No, as long as you brush the fabric with a Soft Bristle Brush during and after painting it should not feel any different. Fabricoat is designed to dry with a soft, flexible finish without changing how the fabric feels.

A. If you want to change the colour of an item, we recommend you always use a darker paint than the original colour.  If you do wish to transform your item to a lighter colour, the original darker colour is likely to show through. You can use our White Fabricoat as a base paint, but we suggest you always test a corner of the fabric first to guarantee this will work.

A. Sofas, chairs, lampshades, blinds, headboards and car interiors, but the possibilities are endless. Our small 125ml craft sized bottles are perfect for hand painting or printing on t-shirts and bags, or decorating fabric advent calendars and cushions. Check out our Inspire page or socials to see what our community have been painting.

A. Yes, it is. Fabricoat takes two hours to become touch-dry and can be used after that, but we’d advise waiting a full seven days to allow the colour to fully cure. Once it’s fully cured, the material can be washed or cleaned as normal. Once dry, it will not rub off onto your clothes or other items.

So easy to use and loved the result’s.

Brought my faded Made.com sofa back to life! Easy to use (follow instructions). The texture is a little stiff but I am hoping will relax with use.

It made arm chair look better than it was. Easy to apply and quick to dry. Approved by family. Saved me getting new chair.

Love this product. It’s transformed old beige chairs into modern looking smart chairs that will give me years more use. I ended up mixing the Green with the Dark Green to get the perfect shade and it took 3 coats. I found using a foam roller was the best application as it went on equally and smoothly. Needs a little more brushing and I’m sure sitting on the chairs will soften them as they are a little crispy but overall, delighted! 🤩

Really impressed

Used 2 x 500ml of Green. Really pleased with final look. However do note, I ordered the first one straight from fabricate. The 2nd bottle, we bought from Amazon, still fabricoat, same colour as green but different label and it was a darker green colour. Which I preferred but they are very different greens .

Love doing this project!!! it looks amazing it took all night to dry as it says on the bottle dry in two hours we left it over night and we’re the buttons are on the bed are they are still tacky.. so chuffed with the out come.

high quality, easy to apply,

Easy to use and great results! Dries darker so don’t panic.

Wow ! What a fantastic product! So pleased with the end result! Has saved me a fortune in reupholstering Would definitely recommend

So easy to apply! Completely changed the look of a tired old footstool. Only problem is I didn’t order enough for a second coat!

Great coverage easy to use and gave new life to my lampshades.

Pleased with result. Had to do 3 coats as it was dark purple previously. But was happy with shade & couldn't find a replacement. So perfect result 😊.

This paint is a great idea and has transformed our dull armchair that we didn’t want to spend £1000 getting recovered. The guidelines for how much to order weren’t great as we ended up ordering double the amount however I think the fabric was really absorbent so it needed 3 coats. It is a little crispy but prefer it as it is now so think it was worth it.

I used 2.5 litres on my footstool and recliner, with none to spare. I'm pleased with the overall effect but it was quite a laborious process and took quite a while to dry. Has a slightly crunchy feel to it but that could be use error! Lovely colour.

Easy to use and colour as expected. 1st coat dried patchy but that was to be expected. Final result after 3 coats is a lovely rich green! Super happy with it!

Great quality chair but looked old and dreary so decided to liven it up to match decor. Chose the green and it went on really well. Dried fine and looks so much nicer and a lot more modern.

It didn’t match as well with my room as I’d hoped but was a lovely colour anyway.

Not overwhelmed Thought it would cover better, given your information I'm going to do it my way for future reference. It works a treat.....

Hi unfortunately it was not good and really didn’t work on the fabric I tried it on.

Arrived on time, covered well, looks good. I would recommend diluting the paint with water for draylon or other longer pile fabrics as I found it created a better, more even colour more easily.

We really delighted how this product worked, it went on smoothly & the perfect colour we would recommend this to everyone.

I bought this color to use on a beach bag. It was perfect. I'm so happy with the way it turned out. I left the bag at the beach house or I'd post a pic.

Love this! My cushions were unbleached in spots, and they remained patchy after using a dye. They have come up great with this paint!

Pretty easy to apply and even easier if fabric gets wet before use. Quite a lot of yellow in this green and very noticeable with only 1 coat, however, love the colour after 3 coats. I am revamping an armchair and its footstool and you do need a lot of paint and it is expensive

Great choice of colours

It’s a tough gig taking a faded red velvet couch to a forest green one, it takes a lot more dye than you’d imagine and even with brushing dry and wet and watering the dye down it still is sandpapery and crispy, we don’t mind as the colour is great and we will have to live with it. In retrospect velvet is a difficult fabric to do. But Fabricoat is still an amazing product and has given an older couch a new lease of life.

Bought to cover ochre coloured dining chair can still see the yellow tone through the green. Quite disappointed as have gone over 3 times already

Worked as I expected

The application was slow-going and tougher than I expected. I thought I had over-ordered but I needed every drop. I am very happy, though, with the finished product.

Coverage is excellent! Great company to work with!

Worked great to revive some trainers that I loved but the colour had washed out!

Great customer services. Painted a headboard, chair and bed. Amazing! Defo recommend.

Painted my bland grey reclining sofa green and it looks fantastic. The fabric is still soft so really happy.

Bonjour Le battle green est différent du Green que j’ai commandé sinon tout est ok

Easy to use. It took three coats to get my barstools the desired coverage. At first the color was wonderfully vivid, but now that the color is setting in, it looks a little faded. Still much prettier than before I painted.

Completely transformed my sofas, very pleased

Very good quality paint. Easy to apply and a little goes a long way. My dining chairs are transformed

Product quality and delivery were excellent! I applied 2 coats of the bottle green dye onto a yellow velvet chair and the velvet has dried stiff (despite brushing as advised) and I can still see streaks of dye where I applied with a sponge so I think it will need another coat. So far, I have used 750ml of dye, expecting to use another 250ml. Not bad, just not quite as amazing as some other reviews I have read.

Met expectations after two wrong shipments from your U.S. distributors. They sent wrong color twice.
