Got something that’s feeling a little unloved? All-in-one Fabricoat fabric paint helps you revive pretty much anything, from sofas and cushions to curtains and car interiors. Acting like a fabric dye, it’s extremely easy to use, highly durable and a cost effective way to bring fabric back to life.
Fabricoat comes in a range of 16 on-trend and classic colours. The colours are strong and vibrant and won’t fade or rub off after they’ve dried. Add colour and beauty into the world around you.
Once dry, the fabric will remain soft and flexible – it won’t make the material go hard or stiff – and it will provide a long-lasting finish that you’ll enjoy for years.
Just so you know...
If you’re using the paint to change the colour of fabric, always ensure the fabric is a lighter colour than the paint you decide to use. Can’t find the colour you desire? Then try mixing the colours to your preferred shade or use our White Mixing Fabricoat paint to lighten other colours. As it dries, do brush the surface a few times to prevent any fibres sticking together.
If your fabric has a pile, such as velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon or microfibre, we recommend ordering double the quantities of fabric paint. This is because there’s lots more surface area to cover on these types of fabric.
Always test the fabric for water absorbency first. If it’s absorbent, Fabricoat will work.

Frequently Asked Questions
A. Yes, Fabricoat will work on any fabric provided it's absorbent. To test absorbency, drop some water onto the fabric and see if it soaks in. If it does, it is absorbent, and Fabricoat will work. We’d advise that for fabrics with a pile, you order double the amount of fabric paint as there's more surface area to cover.
A. A 250ml bottle will cover a lampshade or cushion, 500ml will paint a dining chair or a footstool, 1 litre will be enough for an armchair, headboard, or car seat, and 2.5 litres will be enough to transform a three-seater sofa.
However, if your fabric has a pile (like velvet, faux-suede, chenille, draylon, or microfibre), you will need to use more product as there is much more surface area to cover. We suggest ordering double the above quantities of fabric paint for these fabric types.
Our 125ml bottles are for small craft projects such as painting or printing on clothing, bags, napkins, lampshades and more. Alternatively they can be used as tester bottles to perform a small test on an inconspicuous area before tackling larger upholstery projects, if you want to see how the colour will turn out.
A. No, as long as you brush the fabric with a Soft Bristle Brush during and after painting it should not feel any different. Fabricoat is designed to dry with a soft, flexible finish without changing how the fabric feels.
A. If you want to change the colour of an item, we recommend you always use a darker paint than the original colour. If you do wish to transform your item to a lighter colour, the original darker colour is likely to show through. You can use our White Fabricoat as a base paint, but we suggest you always test a corner of the fabric first to guarantee this will work.
A. Sofas, chairs, lampshades, blinds, headboards and car interiors, but the possibilities are endless. Our small 125ml craft sized bottles are perfect for hand painting or printing on t-shirts and bags, or decorating fabric advent calendars and cushions. A. Yes, it is. Fabricoat takes two hours to become touch-dry and can be used after that, but we’d advise waiting a full seven days to allow the colour to fully cure. Once it’s fully cured, the material can be washed or cleaned as normal. Once dry, it will not rub off onto your clothes or other items.

I had to buy 2 bottles and it still hasn't covered it so i had to cover the middle with a blanket. Its a shame because i really love the colour.
Gorgeous. Sofa £30. Fabricoat 3.5 litres but it was fantastic. It is hard work but it saved me £2k and I got an amazing sofa that would have cost £2k new. You need to apply 3 coats but well worth it. Thank you Fabricoat. I shall buy again
It’s getting there - 2 bottles weren’t quite enough and at the moment the fabric feels quite stiff, so I will brush it again with a soft brush (or thinking maybe a horse grooming brush!) and I need to go over it again so have got another bottle. I do love the colour though

I thoroughly enjoyed the process and chose to trust it! I’ve only used less than half the largest bottle and as diluted slightly for ease of application. I’m away at the moment but when I return, I shall do another coat and let it dry and cure again. Summer is an ideal time because it dried so quickly, and using the brush as directed is crucial to the final look and feel of the item being painted. This nonbeliever now Highly recommends this product, but please develop a cobalt blue for my armchair…

Lovely stuff to work with! Painted my light grey chair in the raspberry and needed 2 500ml bottles to get it done. Still needs a second coat, but for the first coat, I am super pleased with how it’s come out! Feels exactly the same as it was before in terms of material.
One large bottle & two coats on this sofa and still loads left, although I did add some water. Hated the grey sofa before but can’t afford a new one yet but now I love it. Gorgeous colour, can’t wait to reimagine my other furniture now!

Painted this ancient chair I inherited. The old velvet was at least 60 years old! The paint is fantastic - and though a little crispy in places, I put that down to the age and condition of the original fabric. I’ve saved myself £800!! Now. Should I paint the wood? 🤔

Some delivery problems but resolved and dealt with very well. I thought I may not have had enough fabricate for the job but was able to do three coats and still have some left (I think the secret is misting the material first). Delighted with the result and glad I took the task on, I think you will agree. Highly recommended.
Parasol Project. I wanted to bring some life to an old garden parasol. I slightly miscalculated how much paint I would need but I am absolutely thrilled with end result. Colour is so bright and striking’
Really great product. Anything I found in stores needed the fabric taken off and then ironed. This could be painted straight onto my old chair. Really easy, super pigmented and wipes straight off the wood. I’m now looking at the rest of my furniture 🤣 Very impressed. Thank you
Was so easy to use -I dampened the material and I used a paintbrush as instructed - then rubbed all over with a sponge to make sure it was rubbed in well and even ... took absolutely no time at all and my Victorian chairs are now upcycled and fabulous !!

I bought 2.5L of gorgeous raspberry to paint a chenille chaise. All the instructions and advice was very clear and ensured I got it just right. I knew that painting onto a darker colour would change the finished colour - so I was happy with that. It looks amazing. It took a bit of time but was well worth it. I also painted my boots - as I’d dripped paint on them so there was no going back !
We have a footstool that was a remnant of an old velvet 1970s lounge suite. Our plan was to recover it only we never got around to it due to the cost of doing so. Fabricoat in raspberry was the perfect solution! Velvet is a surprisingly thirsty material so I can see why it is suggested to double the suggested amount. When I did the first coat I thought I might not have enough, our footstool is only small though and 500ml ended up being plenty. I’ve gone back over it several times to make sure it’s even, just due to the nature of the velvet material, and I still have a small amount left. I made sure to brush the fabric as it was drying and although does still feel a little stiff in some places I feel like this will soften with use. I’m honestly so impressed - I would absolutely use this product again!

Quick delivery. Love the colour … It looked like a shocking pink when it went on, but it calmed down to a lovely raspberry colour. It was very easy to apply Once the fabric was damp. The bottle did one coat of the Ottoman. I probably would give it a second coat if it wasn’t in a room that’s not used much, but I’m happy with the overall effect.
I didn't want to leave a review until I'd done two coats and let it dry properly. It was really easy to use and I love the colour. Totally thrilled 😍

I love this! The color is pretty true to what you see on the screen. Just like they say, once it dries it’s nice and soft. A 250 ml bottle was more than enough to paint my ottoman.

We needed to revamp our Breeze house cushions and canvass panels. Used Raspberry to paint over the very faded dark red cushions, and then Olive to paint the canvass panels on the inside. Both turned out very well and the 20 year old Breeze House is refreshed.

Fabricate is a great product. Easy to apply and doesn’t change the feel of the fabric. I painted this lampshade which I bought from a charity shop.I was going to get it recovered which was going work out rather expensive . I researched online which was the best fabric paint and I can honestly say I was not disappointed! 10 out of 10!
Excellent result ideal fabric with grey fleck ads to it really well.....one coat was enough followed instructions to letter with no issues I had 5ltes n couldn't finish the back of sofa (against a wall so got away with it) Read so many reviews was really unsure bit wished I'd done it ages ago Only dow side was bit stiff but after my husband has valiantly devoted all his spare time to "breaking it in" it's softened up lovely .....what a hero 👏
