The Unexpected Red Theory In Interior Design

The Unexpected Red Theory In Interior Design

The 'Unexpected Red Theory' - a year on ❤️

Last year, interior designer @intayriors opened our eyes to just how versatile the colour red can be, and how much it can change the look of a room.

The secret to making any space look better, adding anything that's red - be it big or small – to a room where it doesn’t match at all. Sounds like it doesn't work, but trust us it does!

So why red? Red in colour psychology symbolises passion, strength and vitality. But on a softer note, it’s also a colour associated with love, passion, and desire. This means the colour red holds the power to give a completely different feel to each space.

The unexpectedness of “the unexpected red theory“ is what makes it work so well; the element of surprise is what breaks the monotony of the rooms we inhabit day in and day out.

It's been a year since this theory started circulating on social media, and we still love it.

Check out some of our favourite portrayls of this theory below.
